Apostille for treaty countries
More than 120 countries signed the 1961 Apostille Convention. For those, a single apostille from the court is enough.
Consular legalisation elsewhere
Where a country does not recognise the convention, your document goes to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and then to the consulate. We file the paperwork and keep track of how long each stage takes.
A sworn translation where one is needed
If the authority wants the text in its own language, a translator on the Wbtv register does the work, with statement and stamp.

The rate for the standalone service covers the certification where one is needed, the court fees and the application itself. A sworn translation into a language other than English or French is €72 per page. Shipping and the digital copy sit outside that rate: registered post within the Netherlands costs €9.95, free from €299, and a digital copy by e-mail is a box you tick at €9.95 per document. Delivery takes 5 to 9 working days, or 3 to 6 working days with the rush option for a surcharge. If a sworn translation is added, that takes 5 to 7 working days. Prices exclude VAT.

- Wat is een apostille?
- Een apostille is een internationaal erkende stempel die de echtheid van een document bevestigt voor gebruik in het buitenland. De apostille wordt toegevoegd aan een beëdigde vertaling en is vereist in landen die het Apostilleverdrag hebben ondertekend. De apostille wordt afgegeven door de rechtbank of het Ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken.
- Is een beëdigde vertaling rechtsgeldig?
- Ja, een beëdigde vertaling is officieel rechtsgeldig in Nederland en wordt erkend door alle Nederlandse overheidsinstanties, rechtbanken, de IND, gemeenten en onderwijsinstellingen. Onze vertalers zijn beëdigd bij de Nederlandse rechtbank en geregistreerd in het RBTV (Register Beëdigde Tolken en Vertalers).
- Hoe bestel ik een beëdigde vertaling?

- Wanneer heb ik een apostille nodig?
- U heeft een apostille nodig wanneer u een Nederlands document of een Nederlandse beëdigde vertaling wilt gebruiken in een land dat het Apostilleverdrag heeft ondertekend. Dit geldt voor landen zoals de VS, Canada, Australië, VK en de meeste Europese landen buiten de EU. Voor gebruik binnen de EU is meestal geen apostille nodig.
- Wat is het verschil tussen een beëdigde en gecertificeerde vertaling?
- In Nederland is 'beëdigde vertaling' de officiële term voor een vertaling door een rechtbank-beëdigde vertaler. 'Gecertificeerde vertaling' is een informele term die vaak hetzelfde betekent. Internationaal kan 'certified translation' andere vereisten hebben. Voor Nederlandse instanties heeft u altijd een beëdigde vertaling nodig van een RBTV-vertaler.

- U kunt uw document uploaden via het bestelformulier op onze website, of per e-mail sturen naar info@legalisatieonline.nl. Wij accepteren alle gangbare bestandsformaten: PDF, JPG, PNG, HEIC, WebP, TIFF, DOCX en meer. Het bestand mag maximaal 50MB groot zijn.
